"Around Europe the weather is slowly reaching its best, and now is an ideal time to visit southern and western parts of the region."
Now is a great time to visit stunning Formentera before neighbouring Ibiza's party season gets into full flow. Further afield, the spectacular Galapagos is beautiful at this time of year.
Galapagos Islands, Ecuador
As the Galapagos lies on the equator it enjoys tropical weather year round, although there are still better times than others to visit. The weather is generally hot with clear blue skies in June, and tourist numbers should still be relatively low at this point, which is a real bonus in a place that welcomes around 170,000 tourists per year. The Galapagos is one of the best destinations for wildlife-watching in the world, with plenty of friendly, curious creatures upon every turn, so make the most of your time on the islands and enjoy.
Formentera, Balearic Islands
Wildly overshadowed in regards to tourism by noisy neighbour Ibiza, Formentera – the smallest of all the Balearics, is a gorgeous island renowned for its glorious beaches and peaceful atmosphere. The island’s predominantly flat landscape is criss-crossed by bike lanes, with two-wheels the main form of transportation for the laidback locals. A visit during late spring or early autumn should see you avoid the tourists that trickle over from Ibiza.
May is arguably one of the best times of year to visit Tuscany, as the weather is warm and comfortable without being overbearing. The scenery at this time of year is fantastic; the rolling feeds are bright green and the vibrant yellow of the rape-seed flowers have started to creep into the picture. Tuscany is a great place to get close to nature, so get outside and immerse yourself in these wonderful surroundings.
